Ministerial Staff
Rev. Denise Caulfield, Associate Pastor
Rev. Denise Caulfield was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the cold month of January.
She is the last of seven(7) children: five (5) boys and two (2) girls of Thomas and Ollie Smith.
Rev. Caulfield has a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loves and adores.
Rev. Caulfield is the most proud mother of one daughter, Lesli, and one grandson, Cayden Price, who
both reside in Houston, Texas. After finishing college from Southern University with a Bachelors of
Science degree in Accounting, Rev. Caulfield moved to Houston, Texas, where she currently resides
and still practices her science in the area of taxation. This background influenced her to start an
organization called, "A FEW GOOD WOMEN". This group was formed to bring awareness to women in making
stock investments while generating a spiritual support to working women.
Most of her spiritual life was spent as a member of Allen Chapel African Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.
After moving to Houston, Rev. Caulfield attended Buck Street Memorial Church of God in Christ and later
joined Covenant Glen United Methodist Church in Missouri City, Texas. Rev. Caulfield’s life in church
has been very fruitful. She has served in many areas of ministries, including directing the children and
youth ministry at Buck St. and at Covenant Glen. While at Covenant Glen, Rev. Caulfield served as
president of the choir and facilitated Disciples Bible Study when her call to ministry was confirmed.
The acceptance of the call to ministry in 2003 has been a true spiritual inspiration. Rev. Robert Childress,
of Covenant Glen UMC, whom Rev. Caulfield acknowledges as her father in ministry encouraged her to pursue the
call further.
In 2004, she began the process into ministry. In 2007, Rev. Caulfield became a certified candidate for
Ordination in the United Methodist Church; attended a local pastor school; and was appointed to Riverside
United Methodist church as Associate Pastor under the leadership of Rev. Marilyn White.
In the fall of 2007, Rev. Caulfield began Perkins School of Seminary seeking a Masters of Divinity.
Although she has not specialized in her area of service, she is working toward full Ordination as an
Ordained Elder and Chaplain. Rev. Caulfield also sat on the Board of Ministry for CanCare, an Outreach
Program for cancer patients. The passion of service with the inspiration of God through Jesus Christ
has been a true flame which continues to burn.
